The web has gone through many cycles. From static HTML to complex SPAs, and now… back to static (but smarter).
Is it a circle? Or a spiral?
I think we’re finding a balance. Tools like Astro allow us to ship zero JS by default but hydrate when necessary. It’s the best of both worlds.
Design is also shifting. We’re moving away from the “corporate Memphis” style towards more personal, unique aesthetics. Brutalism, neubrutalism, retro interfaces - they’re all making a comeback.
It’s an exciting time to be building for the web.
